Double Page Spread Analysis

These are some analyses of double page spreads from different music magazines. They are all different types of artists so have different representations as they have different ideologies of how they want to be portrayed to their audiences. I have identified and analysed some of the conventions of what the magazines includes.

Rap Front Cover Initial Ideas

This was some first ideas that I think I might put on the front cover of my final music product. All of the ideas will fit well into the style of a rap music magazine and will reflect the target audience and they will be able to relate to the contents. These are not final ideas and may change.

Looks Professional and real due to layout and features
Picture is good quality in focus with direct mode of address
Has lots of magazine codes and conventions (barcode/masthead/rule of thirds/colour scheme)
Looks like it is aimed at college students (TA)

Doesn't look as professional as the one above due to fonts used.
Looks childish and not aimed at college students
No bar code/price
Includes some magazine conventions (masthead/slogan/issue)
It kind of follows a colour scheme but varies in places

Doesn't look professional at all. Looks vey amateur.
Picture is poor as it isn't good quality/slightly out of focus. Not a good setting
Red text contrast with background so can't read writing well.
Doesn't appeal to the target audience
